IEE Slovakia Receives Responsible Employer Certification

On 10th April 2024, IEE Slovakia held a ceremony to mark the acceptance of the Responsible Employer award, a recognition given by the National Labour Inspectorate after months of successful collaboration. Being a part of such a program took a lot of energy and involvement from many people, but it was well worth it.
The certificate is a nice recognition of these efforts. It confirms not only the efficient implementation of an improved human resource management system that distinguishes IEE Slovakia as a conscientious employer. It also validates a high level of care for employees, working conditions, safety and health protection at work and compliance with legal regulations of the Slovakian and European labour market.
“We immediately saw the benefits of joining the “Responsible Employer” program. We took the challenge to join it, knowing that the assessment would be lengthy and complex. We knew we would have to “tick” many boxes in many categories (safety of working conditions, training, responding to employees’ needs to reach better retention and motivation) if we were to be accepted.
There was a set of roughly 350 questions related to processes, there were on-site controls from several local entities (Social Insurance, trade union, Social Affair and Family, etc.). But we also knew we had good chances and we wanted to make our stance for continuous improvement,” says Monika Viszlay, HR Manager at IEE Slovakia.
Placing employees at the heart of the business through such initiatives is critical to building on a sustainable people culture where employees feel cared for. It helps maintain a high-quality work environment, which is fundamental to the well-functioning of any organization.
This certification that is valid for the next 5 years reflects this and gives IEE Slovakia competitive advantage as an employer in times when specific profiles are hard to find, and talents are being sought after. It is a testimony for employees, potential candidates, and everyone in and outside of the organization that IEE Slovakia has every intention to provide a workspace that is safe, fair, ethical and compliant.
