A sense for innovation
Let’s Talk Our story begins in 1989 in Luxembourg. We make a breakthrough as a start-up, a small team of 3 people with ideas, knowledge and ambition. Since then, thanks to our talented and dedicated people, we’ve come a long way, expanding globally, making ourselves a solid reputation among world’s best-known customers, leading the way in innovation.
As a world leading supplier of advanced sensing solutions for automotive, smart buildings and smart health, we’re always looking into the future and we are proud of our history.

1989 - We start out
We begin to develop innovative electronic sensors in Echternach, Luxembourg.
1993 - Worldwide pioneer in passenger presence detection
We enter the automotive passenger safety market with Passenger Presence Detection (PPD) – the first of its kind in the world.
1994 - A move to child safety
We introduce Child Seat Presence and Orientation Detection (CPOD) for automatic airbag deactivation.
1997 - Expanding occupant detection applications
This time, we pioneer in occupant detection for advanced Seat Belt Reminders (SBR), encouraging seat belt usage, saving lives.
2001 - Worldwide pioneer in occupant classification
We launch Occupant Classification (OC™), a sensor that informs the airbag control unit if a child seat or an adult is detected.
2008 - BodySense next generation occupant classification
Based on capacitive sensing technology, our BodySense™ sensor enables smart airbag deactivation when child seats are detected.
2009 - Counting people
We use 3D MLI Sensor™ technology to develop People Counter, enabling occupancy statistics for building management.
2010 - Volumetric Object Surveillance protecting objects
Our Volumetric Object Surveillance (VOS) system is used for surveillance of items in museums, art galleries, banks, where valuable objects require highly reliable monitoring.
2011 - TDflex preventing tailgating
Another 3D MLI product, made to prevent unauthorized access to secured areas: Tailgate Detector TDflex™.
2012 - New business opportunities in Smart Health
Our first smart footwear sensors supporting medical and sports applications go into production.
2013 - Hands-Off Detection supporting assisted and automated driving
Our capacitive Hands-Off Detection (HOD) technology notifies the vehicle’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) whether the driver has the hands on the wheel, PACE Award follows in 2018.
2013 - Driver Presence Detection
For Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and comfort features, we start supplying Driver Presence Detection (DPD).
2015 - Acquisition of ALL CIRCUITS
With our partners, we expand our offer towards customers with top quality electronic manufacturing services.
2019 - Battery Management for Li-Ion
We start to provide sensing solutions that optimize battery packs by making them less complex, more efficient, and easier to assemble.
2019 - ActiSense smart footwear sensing solution
We launch an advanced insole sensing solution with electronics for digital footwear.
2020 - VitaSense for detecting unattended children in cars
Our first radar sensing solution, VitaSense, that helps prevent heatstroke casualties by detecting children left in cars and providing info to the vehicle’s warning systems.
2020 - LiDAS for detecting unattended children in school buses
Children can also be left unattended in school buses. We launch our radar-based LiDAS system as an aftermarket solution for this specific challenge.
2021 - TDexpress sensing solution for gate monitoring
We introduce our new advanced multi lane tailgate detection for maximum security.
