Your responsibilities

Your mission will be to contribute to the development of safe products for automated driving and airbag systems by:

  • Analyzing and evaluating customer functional safety requirements and aligning them with IEE functional safety requirements
  • Planning and coordinating functional safety activities from concept/product development phase to mass production
  • Working cross-functionally with engineering teams to ensure all functional and technical safety requirements are implemented and tested
  • Actively supporting engineering teams in identifying technical solutions to develop error detection and error handling mechanisms
  • Identifying technical risks
  • Compiling the evidence required for the Functional Safety argumentation in Safety Case
  • Communicating with customers and suppliers for functional safety topics
  • Supporting improvements of development processes

IEE will offer appropriate trainings to close any potential skill gap.


Your profile

  • A university degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Software, Automotive Engineering, or a similar technical discipline
  • Strong motivation to learn Functional Safety
  • The followings are considered as an asset:
    • Experience in automotive industry, preferably as a system, software, or hardware engineer
    • Knowledge of general automotive system requirements and development processes
    • Knowledge of Functional Safety, ISO26262, Automotive SPICE, IATF 16949, risk analysis, DOORS, V-model, Cybersecurity, SOTIF
  • The ability to read and interpret requirements, test cases, test results and safety standards
  • Strong coordination, negotiation, and communication skills to inspire trust and confidence while working with colleagues and customers
  • Strong problem-solving and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, German and/or French are strong assets
